FAQ
I appreciate you might have questions before booking and that’s completely normal. This page is here to help you feel informed, reassured, and confident.
General
How do I book an appointment?
You can book online through the website, by calling, texting, WhatsApp, emailing, or sending a message via Facebook or Instagram. Booking in advance ensures you get a time that works for you and allows for a personalised, one-on-one experience.
Do I need to fill out a medical form or consultation?
Yes. All first-time clients must complete a medical form/consultation. For waxing, this is a brief form to check for sensitivities or skin considerations. For laser treatments, a more thorough form and consultation are required before treatment can commence. This ensures your treatment is safe, suitable for your skin and hair type, and tailored to your goals. During your consultation, we will also discuss your needs, expectations, and any relevant medical history.
Do I need a patch test or consultation?
A patch test is recommended for clients with sensitive skin, allergies, or those new to waxing, and is free of charge. For laser treatments, a patch test and full consultation are compulsory before any treatment and are £30. This ensures your treatment is safe, suitable for your skin and hair type, and tailored to your goals.
What forms of payment do you accept?
I accept card payments, payments via the website, cash, bank transfer, and contactless payments.
Are deposits required?
Yes, a deposit of 50% is required to secure all appointments. This ensures your slot is reserved. The deposit will be deducted from the total cost of your session.
Do you accept walk-ins?
All treatments are by appointment only to ensure you receive one-on-one attention and a personalised, professional experience.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
Please give a minimum of 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling. This allows other clients to book your slot. Failure to provide sufficient notice will result in forfeiting the session, and the full session fee will be charged.
Do I need to be a certain age for treatments?
Clients must be 18+.
Is the salon private and hygienic?
Yes, all treatments are carried out in a private, clean, and professional environment. Your comfort and safety are always a priority.
Can I combine treatments in one session?
Yes, treatments can be combined safely. Contact me to discuss your goals and plan a session that suits you.
How do I know which treatment is right for me?
You’ll receive a personal consultation to review your needs, goals, and any skin or hair considerations, ensuring you choose the treatment best suited to you. You can also call, text, WhatsApp, email, or message via Facebook or Instagram at any time to discuss your needs and the most suitable treatments.
Laser Hair Removal
Does laser hair removal hurt?
Some clients describe the sensation as mild discomfort, similar to a quick flick or snap. It’s generally well-tolerated and much less painful than waxing.
How many sessions will I need?
Hair grows in cycles, so multiple sessions are required. Most people see the best results after 8 treatments spaced a minimum of 4-6 weeks apart.
Is it safe for all skin types?
Yes! Our advanced Derma Diode ice tip cooling laser technology is suitable for a wide range of skin tones. A consultation and patch test will confirm your suitability.
Can I shave between sessions?
Yes, shaving is perfectly fine. In fact, we ask you to shave the area before each session. Avoid waxing or plucking during your course.
Which areas can be treated?
Almost anywhere - including face, underarms, legs, bikini, chest, and back. Treatments are tailored for both men and women with complete discretion.
How long do results last?
Results vary by individual, but many clients enjoy long-term hair reduction after completing a full course. You will likely need occasional maintenance sessions a few times a year.
Are there any side effects?
Some people may experience mild redness or swelling, which usually subsides within a few hours. Rarely, temporary changes in skin pigmentation can occur. I will discuss any potential side effects with you during your consultation and throughout your treatment, adjusting the procedure if necessary.
Can I undergo laser hair removal if I’m tanned?
Tanned skin can affect results, so we recommend scheduling sessions when your skin is untanned. A consultation will help determine the best timing.
What should I do before my session?
Avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, and certain skincare products before treatment. Shaving the area is required, while waxing or plucking should be avoided. At your consultation, you’ll receive a detailed pre and aftercare card with all the instructions you need.
Waxing
How long does my hair need to be for waxing?
Hair should be about the length of a grain of rice - roughly 3–5mm - to ensure the wax can grip effectively for the best results.
How often should I book a wax?
Most clients book every 3-5 weeks. This helps maintain smooth results and keeps hair growth on a consistent cycle.
Will it hurt?
Some initial discomfort is normal, particularly during your first visit, but most clients find the process quick and manageable. The more regular the appointments, the more comfortable waxing becomes over time.
Can I wax if I have sensitive skin?
Yes. I use high-quality products and professional techniques designed to minimise irritation. During your first appointment, we’ll discuss your skin’s needs to ensure the treatment is as gentle and effective as possible.
What areas can be waxed?
Almost any area! Services include brows, facial areas, underarms, legs, bikini (including intimate waxing), chest, back, and more - for both men and women.
How should I prepare for my waxing appointment?
For the best results, arrive with clean, dry skin and hair about 3–5mm long. Avoid applying oils, lotions, or heavy creams beforehand. Gently exfoliating a day or two before your appointment can help prevent ingrown hairs and make the process smoother.
Can I wax if I’m on medication or pregnant?
Some medications or pregnancy-related skin changes can make waxing more sensitive. Be sure to mention any relevant conditions on your medical form so that I can tailor your treatment safely.
How do I care for my skin after waxing?
Avoid sun exposure, hot baths, saunas, or tight clothing for at least 24 hours. Keep your skin moisturised with gentle products and exfoliate lightly after a few days to prevent ingrown hairs.
What should I do if it’s my first time waxing?
Don’t worry! I’ll guide you through the process from start to finish. You’ll complete a brief medical form, and we’ll discuss any concerns or sensitivities. The treatment is done efficiently and gently, and I’ll provide aftercare advice to ensure your skin stays smooth.
Will waxing make my hair grow back thicker?
No - waxing removes hair from the root, so it often grows back finer and softer over time. Regular waxing can also help slow the hair growth cycle, keeping skin smooth longer.
